After a rigorous selection and vetting process, attorney Jill Pilgrim was appointed to the board of directors of the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU). The AIU was established as an independent entity by the international sports federation for the sport of track and field, World Athletics, and is responsible for anti-doping, ethics and integrity issues in the sport. The AIU handles drug testing operations for certain international running and track and field competitions, investigates alleged breaches of integrity, including doping, and manages and sets policy for the adjudicatory processes related to breaches of integrity.
