Jill Pilgrim will be moderating a panel on the legal approaches to handling allegations of sexual abuse in sports. Pilgrim is an esteemed attorney with wide experience in diverse work environments. Some of Pilgrim’s diverse experience involved serving as general counsel of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), and as general counsel and director of business affairs for USA Track & Field, the Olympic governing body for the sport of track & field. Pilgrim is also a member of several sports-focused committees and boards; including the Knight Commission Intercollegiate Athletics, the Sports Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Section, and the Board of Directors of the Athletics Integrity Unit. Pilgrim founded and is the president of the Center for the Protection of Athletes’ Rights, Inc. (CPAR), a nonprofit advocacy, education, and legal service provider for low-income members of the U.S. athletic community. In addition to many accolades, Pilgrim is an adjunct professor at Columbia Law School teaching a seminar-style sports arbitration course.
